Itinerary
Name: Magical Highlands & The Harry Potter Bridge
Short Description: Our Harry Potter bridge adventure kicks off in Inverness, where we follow the famous shores of Loch Ness and stopping for a wander at Fort Augustus. From here, we head south through classic Highland scenery to the Commando Memorial, with sweeping views across the Nevis Range and towards Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain. Next, we make our way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, a place known by many fans (or shall we say, muggles) as the “Harry Potter Bridge”. Framed by lochs and mountains, this is home to the striking Glenfinnan Monument, built in tribute to the Jacobite clans. We then continue west to the colourful fishing port of Mallaig. You’ll have free time to wander the harbour, enjoy lunch, or sample some fresh local seafood before we hop on a train* to Fort William. It’s time to swap wheels for rails! The West Highland Line delivers one of the most scenic train journeys in Scotland. You’ll rumble across the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct – aye, the one used by the Hogwarts Express – and glide past lochs, moorland and tiny villages tucked into the landscape. You’ll get off the train in Fort William and rejoin your driver guide to continue the adventure by coach. As we head back in the direction of Inverness, the scenery keeps on delivering. Our next stop is the old stone bridge at Invermoriston, a small and pretty village divided by the River Moriston, before finishing the day above the eerie ruins of Urquhart Castle. We return to Inverness in the evening, full of Highland highlights! *Please note this is not a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train.
