Soak up the stunning scenery throughout the journey, before we arrive into the charming Victorian village of Braemar. Immerse yourself in the traditional Highland celebrations at the Braemar Gathering, which has been celebrated by Scottish clans for centuries - and attended by the Royal Family since 1844. There will Highland dancing, caber tossing and hammer throwing. This is a special cultural event in a beautiful setting, and an experience you won’t forget. After the tartan-clad festivities, enjoy dinner and drinks at our hotel in Royal Deeside.

Short Description: Today we set off to discover the delights of Royal Deeside. The area takes its name from the River Dee, and the area’s royal connections; the Queen’s Royal Residence can be found nearby at Balmoral Castle. Visit the ancient Tomnaverie Stone Circle; a burial site with a history spanning 4500 years. Next, we travel to the east coast, where you can marvel at the dramatic ruins of Dunnottar Castle - one of the most iconic ruins in Scotland! Enjoy lunch and free time in the beautiful cathedral town of St Andrews, which is also known as the ‘Home of Golf’. We arrive back into Edinburgh early evening.
