Name: Summer Itinerary (April to October)
Short Description: DAY 1: Our 5-day Scotland tour kicks off in Edinburgh as we head west to visit the stunning Kelpies. We pass Stirling and take in views of the towering Wallace Monument and its' stunning castle. Listen to stories about the incredible events which have taken place in this area throughout history. Enter into the wild Scottish Highlands, passing the medieval stronghold of Doune Castle; featured in Outlander and Game of Thrones. Our next stop is eerie Glen Coe; one of Scotland’s most iconic and dramatic landscapes. Hear the harrowing tale of the 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald, as you soak up the epic scenery. Tonight, we’ll stay in the bustling fishing town of Oban; enjoy fresh seafood and check out the local traditional music scene – the best way to bond with your new tour buddies. (Overnight: Oban) DAY 2: Look out for Ben Nevis – the tallest mountain in the UK – as we journey north past Fort William. Prepare to be awestruck by the rugged Highland scenery, and star struck by the Glenfinnan Viaduct; also known as the ‘Harry Potter Bridge’. Get the chance to be a wizard for the day and travel on the famous Jacobite Steam Train aka ‘Hogwarts Express’ made famous by Harry Potter, followed by a ferry to the Isle of Skye – look out for dolphins! We spend the night on the Isle of Skye, where we’ll gather in a local pub, where you can sample some local ales, whiskies and banter! (Overnight: Portree) DAY 3: Today, we explore the enchanting Isle of Skye. Famous for its otherworldly scenery, clan history, and legendary myths, Skye is a big tick off your bucket list! Immerse yourself in the magic of Skye; marvel at waterfalls, ancient mountains and jaw-dropping coastline, while listening to tales of Vikings, ancient monarchs and mischievous faeries. Returning to the mainland on the way to Loch Ness we take in the views of the incredibly photogenic Eilean Donan Castle and visit Dundreggan Rewilding Centre to learn about Scotland’s ancient Caledonian Forest before winding our way along the Great Glen to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands. (Overnight: Inverness) DAY 4: This is your final Nessie spotting opportunity. You have the chance to take a cruise to hunt for the elusive monster of Loch Ness. If boats are not for you, take time to explore the Loch and canal by foot. Our drive takes us through the stunning beauty of the North West Highlands and onto the picturesque town of Beauly with its historic Priory dating back to 1230. Today Beauly Priory is better known for its showcase in Outlander season two as well as burial site to members of Clan Fraser. Next, we stop at the mysterious Clava Cairns; a prehistoric burial site with standing stones which inspired the TV show Outlander. Next, we visit the eerie moor at Culloden Battlefield, to hear tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the 1746 Jacobite Rising; the story which also inspired Outlander, before returning to Inverness. (Overnight: Inverness) DAY 5: Leaving Inverness, we visit the Highland Folk Museum to get a real taste of Highland life from the past centuries before heading to a local whisky distillery with a chance to taste Scotland’s 'water of life'. For our final stop we visit Dunkeld and take a walk through the quaint village, on to the River Tay and make a visit to the cathedral. Our 5-day Scotland tour comes to an end as we arrive in Edinburgh int the early evening.

Short Description: DAY 1: We depart Edinburgh and make our way to the world’s largest equine sculptures, the Kelpies, located in Falkirk. Heading further north, we pass the city of Stirling with its stunning castle, catching mighty views of the towering Wallace Monument. Then it’s time to enter the rugged Scottish Highlands! We pass Doune Castle, a medieval stronghold that many will recognise as Castle Leoch from Outlander, or Winterfell from the first episode of Game of Thrones. Our adventure takes us to Glen Coe, one of Scotland’s most famous Highland valleys – describing Glen Coe as staggering at this time of year would be an understatement. Our home for the night is the pretty fishing town of Oban, a bustling hub for fresh seafood and Scottish live music. Time to grab a drink with your new travel buddies! (Overnight: Oban) DAY 2: This morning, we travel to the Isle of Skye through the Highlands, taking in epic mountains, lochs, and glens. Get ready to take the ultimate shot of the impressive Glenfinnan Viaduct, often referred to as the most beautiful railway in the world and used as a film setting for Harry Potters’ magical ride on the Hogwarts Express. Scotland in winter gives these landscapes an enchanted edge – misty, moody, and seriously epic. We pass the iconic Eilean Donan Castle and head towards the Isle of Skye, where we will be spending the night in the picturesque town Portree. (Overnight: Portree) DAY 3: Gear up for a morning exploring a wee bit more of the Isle of Skye's wild beauty! Breathe in the fresh air amidst windswept mountains and rugged coastlines, and witness legends come alive as you explore awe-inspiring sites like Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr. We head back to the mainland to catch a glimpse of Eilean Donan Castle, a true icon among Scotland’s many beautiful castles. Visit the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre*, where you'll learn about Scotland's ancient Caledonian Forest and the inspiring work of the charity Trees For Life, before settling into our hostel accommodation in Inverness for the next two nights. (Overnight: Inverness) DAY 4: This morning, we get the ultimate opportunity to search for the legendary Loch Ness monster on an optional boat cruise experience on Loch Ness. We head northwards to the lovely wee town of Beauly. Used as a filming location for Outlander, the ancient ruins of Beauly Priory date back to 1230AD. We complete our day with a visit to Culloden Battlefield where we learn about the bloody history and defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite’s in 1746. (Overnight: Inverness) DAY 5: We kick off our final day with a visit to the mystical chamber cairns and standing stones of Clava Cairns, known to have inspired the incredible TV series Outlander. Then, we make our way to a local whisky distillery to sample our best-loved national drink during an immersive distillery tour before returning to Edinburgh early evening.
